What we do

Tyres, wheels and the jobs in between.

St George sits where the Balonne and Carnarvon Highways cross, in the middle of cotton and grain country. That means the work here runs from a caravan tyre on a Saturday morning to a set of header tyres in the thick of harvest, and we keep the racks stocked for both.

Cash or EFTPOS, and everything is paid for on completion. Nothing complicated.

01

Truck and trailer tyres

Super single truck tyres and trailer tyres, fitted and balanced. The big changer in the shed handles them all day.

02

Header tyres

Come harvest we hold header tyres ready to go, because a header sitting in a paddock on a flat is costing you the crop.

03

4x4 and passenger tyres

All terrains, mud terrains and highway rubber on the racks, with the sizes ticketed so you can see what is here.

04

Punctures and repairs

The thing the shop is named after. Plugs, patches, tubes and the awkward ones nobody else wants to take on.

05

Wheels, rims and mags

Steel and alloy. We are an authorised Dynamic Wheel Co dealer, so we can get any of their ten brands in for you.

06

Batteries

Century batteries sold and fitted here. Plenty of people are in and out inside twenty minutes.

Mobile and on farm

We will come to the paddock.

A tractor tyre or a header tyre is not going anywhere on its own, and neither is a loaded truck on the side of the highway. The service truck carries a tyre handling crane and a compressor, so the job gets done where the machine is standing.

It is the same shop, the same people, and the same number to ring. Give Damian a call and tell him what you are on.

Rubber on the racks, not on back order.

In a town this size the difference between a good tyre shop and a bad one is whether the tyre is actually here. The racks run two deep with the sizes ticketed, the top shelf carries parts, and come harvest the truck and header tyres are already in.

We are an authorised Dynamic Wheel Co dealer, so if the rim you want is not on the floor we can get any of their brands in. Steel or alloy, rated for what you are actually towing.

Brands we carry

  • General Tire
  • BKT
  • Maxtrek
  • Federal
  • Bridgestone
  • Yokohama
  • Dynamic Wheel Co
  • Century Batteries

Oargee lures

With the Balonne running clear right on the doorstep, we keep the Oargee range in stock. Murray cod and yellowbelly options, plus barra and blue water. Grab a set on your way through and the tyres can wait ten minutes.

Who we are

Damian and Jodie, and the team out the back.

Damian Lee is the tyre repairer whose name is on the card. Jodie runs the other half of it. Between them and the blokes in the shed, that is the whole outfit, and it is the reason the same two names turn up on every notice, every sale and every reply to a review.

It is a small town business in the proper sense. There was a raffle through December for anyone who spent over thirty dollars, the winners were named on the page, and as they put it themselves, when you support a small business you are supporting a dream.

Reviews

Mostly written by people who were having a bad day.

Read them in order and a pattern turns up. A caravan on a Saturday morning, a bloke down from Cobar, a Harley on a public holiday. This is highway country, and the reviews are from people who were stuck.

Dropper in today to try and get a new battery for the car. Under 20 minutes later new battery installed and on my way. Super happy with both price and service. Highly recommend

This place was recommended to us by a chap we ran into at Nindigully Pub. Needed two batteries & couldn't have been happier with service & price.

Massive shout out for customer service and speed. Pulled into 4 towns prior from Cobar NSW and these 2 guys at St George with no hesitation Or excuse fitted 2 new tyres and all in 15 minutes. Should be Tyre Service of the Year. Well done. Highly Recommend.

Travelling in our caravan we found ourself in need of 1 new caravan trye. Being a Saturday morning we didn't hold out much luck but called into St George, being the nearest town. Luckily for us Balonne Tyre Repairs were open. Easily accessible with a caravan too. We were highly impressed with the service. A young fellow greeted us as we were getting out of the car; never had that happen anywhere. He listened to what we wanted and presto! it was done. Good price too. Keep up the good work!
